Here Come The Clouds…Sunday Not As Pretty As Saturday (& Chilly!)

city-cam-11-8

The above picture from the News 2 City Cam before sunset shows the cloud cover moving in from the north after a mostly sunny day.  Along with the clouds, colder temperatures are pushing in, as well.  Overnight tonight, lows will drop to the mid to upper 30s.

On Sunday, skies should remain cloudy until mid to late afternoon when we expect a few peaks of sunshine to move in from the west.  The cloud cover for most of the day should keep Nashville’s high at only 49 degrees, while to the west they may crack the 50s with a little sunshine sooner in the afternoon.  To the east, it should remain cloudy with highs in the mid to upper 40s.

Today was a pretty fall day.  Tomorrow should be an ugly one.

A Fallish Weekend Ahead

A Cooler Saturday

A Cooler Saturday

A cool breeze with temps falling into the low 40s/upper 30s tonight.
Saturday will bring a mix of sun for a time then more clouds… but no rain.  High temps in the 50s to near 60 in southern counties where you should see a little more sunshine.
Sunday will give us a little more sunshine but will be a little cooler… in the mid 50s.

Morning Rain, Cooler Weekend

We wake up this morning with light to moderate rain going on in middle Tennessee. Highs today will reach into the mid-60’s as the rain leaves and the clouds break apart a little this afternoon. Temperatures will drop quickly tonight for Friday Night Football- it will be dry but in the 50’s with a little wind. This weekend partly to mostly cloudy skies both days as highs will only be in the 50’s for highs, about 20 degrees cooler than just yesterday. Notice how far Predictor puts the rain to the east by afternoon:

Another Very Nice Day

We start with sunny skies over middle Tennessee but we won’t end that way. Clouds finally return to our skies today, coming in from the west through the late morning and afternoon. We’ll be overcast by early evening and have rain and storms move through tonight. We are not expecting severe weather nor big rain- none the less we could have wet roads for the Friday morning commute. Highs today will reach into the upper 70’s as the winds pick up from the south. By this weekend afternoon highs will be 20 degrees cooler! Below is how Predictor times the arrival of the rain tonight:

Rain Chance Thursday Night-Friday Morning; Then Cooler

predictor-11-5

The above graphic from News 2 Predictor shows the rain arriving in Nashville by late Thursday evening (it may affect our western counties a few hours earlier).  Predictor has it out of here by Friday morning, but I think that there still may be some lingering showers from Nashville eastward during the morning hours.

Until Thursday evening, enjoy sunny to partly cloudy skies with mild afternoon highs in the mid to upper 70s.

The weekend looks seasonably cool with highs in the mid to upper 50s and lows in the upper 30s to low 40s.

Another rain chance should arrive by Monday night and Tuesday of next week.

More Great Weather

Sunshine today with highs in the mid-70’s. November has had great weather so far and it continues. The average highs has been about 10 degrees above normal (64 vs 74) and we’ve logged about 100% sunshine every one of those days. With the fall colors peaking right now what a great time to be in Tennessee! Tomorrow we’ll enjoy a near record high before a cold front arrives early Friday. That front will bring rain and cooler temperatures. Timing of the front is still in question but there is a good chance we’ll have some rain in middle Tennessee during the Friday morning commute. I wouldn’t be surprised to see temperatures dropping during the afternoon- we’ll have highs in the low 60’s on Friday and in the 50’s on Saturday.

The warm days and cool nights explode middle Tennessee in brilliant fall color.  We have two more days of warmth, so get out and explore!
A fall front swings through Thursday night/Friday morning with some brief rain but more long lasting cool temperatures.

If I didn’t know better, I would think that the above News 2 City Cam shot was from yesterday.  Our consistent sunny and mild days with clear cool nights will stick around until Thursday night and Friday when rain and a few t’storms will push through the area.  Behind that, cooler temperatures will push in for the weekend when we expect only 50s for highs, and upper 30s for lows.

It’s a great day for election day here in Middle Tennessee.  If you have not voted yet, try to get out and exercise your right as an American.

Morning Weather

More good news from the News 2 weather department- great weather across middle Tennessee today. For election day we expect nothing but sunshine and highs in the mid-70’s.  These are temperatures more typical in early September than early November. A little fog around this morning but nothing but blue sky above for the day. Tonight lows in the mid-40’s with a slightly warmer day ahead for tomorrow. Then a little warmer still for Thursday and breezy (a high in the upper 70’s- the record high for that day is 79!) with storms along our western counties by Thursday night. We’ll keep rain in the forecast for the Friday morning commute though we could have most of the rain fall in the overnight. It will certainly be cooler- highs on Friday in the low 60’s (typical for early November). As far as this weekend it appears to be dry but much cooler- highs only in the 50’s.  Don’t forget to get out and vote today!
