On Thursday look for a mostly cloudy sky and highs in the middle 80s as humid conditions continue. An isolated shower chance continues, although it certainly won’t be a washout.

Friday will feature much of the same: more clouds than sunshine, muggy temperatures in the upper 80s, and a passing shower chance.

On Saturday afternoon, temperatures will reach the low 90s and an approaching cool front will spark scattered thunderstorms.

Behind that front, nicer weather pushes in on Sunday. I expect sunshine, less humidity and highs in the middle 80s.

Our midweek brings some wet weather back into middle Tennessee. Clouds and passing showers today with most of the rain falling this morning. Highs today in the mid-80’s so at least cooler than yesterday. We’ll keep a few showers in the forecast for this evening and a 20% of rain for Thursday. Below you see how Predictor reduces the rain chances as we get later in the day.

The tropical system over Texas will bring flooding conditions there and into Oklahoma/Missouri over the next two days. We’ll get most just cloudy skies and a few passing showers as the bulk of the rain stays to our west. A cold front is attempting to come through here, we should have some lower dewpoints and temperatures tomorrow: highs in the low 80’s.

The next front arrives on Saturday late, we’ll have another decent chance of rain on Saturday afternoon and evening.

As we talked about yesterday, a front coming in from the north would “siphon off” some of the moisture off of the top of Tropical Storm Hermine. The top graphic has that moisture outlined in red flowing our way in the southwest flow out ahead of the front crossing the Ohio River. Our rain chances will increase to 60% late tonight, and the first half of Wednesday (for Nashville). The activity will shift into our southern counties during the afternoon. Temperatures will stay in the mid 80s for highs on Wednesday.

We’ve had a lot of concern about the pollen count. There are lots of people suffering from the ragweed and grass in the air. Ragweed is a big culprit this time of the year. Get the daily pollen count at http://health.nashville.gov/ENV/AQI_pollen_detail.asp?ID=3849 from the Nashville Metro Health Department.

You can get previous days at http://health.nashville.gov/ENV/AQI_main.asp see left side.

An approaching cold front translates to rain chances coming in from the northwest this afternoon and spreading over middle Tennessee tonight. Its a 50% rain chance though the overnight hours into the first half of the day Wednesday. Meanwhile you’ll notice the increase of the dewpoints and more a “feel of summer” returning to the air as highs get into the low 90’s.

Cooler weather tomorrow with the rain and clouds, highs on Wednesday (and Thursday) in the mid-80’s. The next good chance of rain or storms starts on Friday and last across Saturday.

Notice Tropical Storm Hermine’s path as it leaves the Gulf of Mexico. Although the brunt of that moisture pushes into Texas and the Great Plains by Wednesday, simultaneously a front will push towards Middle Tennessee from the northwest. The southwesterly flow out ahead of that front will “siphon” some of Hermine’s moisture our way to increase our rain chances to about 60% on Wednesday with some of that rain moving in overnight Tuesday night. We may even see a few pop up showers on Tuesday, especially Nashville westward. Tuesday’s highs will be on the warm side, in the 91-92 degree range, but drop to mid 80s on Wednesday with greater rain chances.

We should reach into the upper 80’s and then get into the low 90’s for Tuesday. Rain starts back into the forecast by overnight heading into Wednesday.
Tropical Storm Hermine just reached that classification this early Monday morning. It’ll improve our rain chances around here by Wednesday thru Friday as that tropical moisture interacts with a midwest cold front pushing towards us.

Warmer weather is here for Labor Day, highs will hit the upper 80s. I anticipate sunshine with a southeast breeze at 5 to 10 mph.

Humidity and heat are back on Tuesday, with highs in the low 90s. An isolated t’shower is possible late in the day, mainly toward West Tennessee.

A weak front will bring scattered showers and thundershowers on Wednesday (especially in the morning) with highs in the upper 80s.

90 degree temperatures and small storm chances are here on Thursday and Friday, with a better opportunity for rain next weekend (while the heat continues).

Some possible developments (and redevelopments) in the tropics. First off, and area of disturbed weather associated with a low pressure center in the western Gulf of Mexico may be classified as a tropical depression over the next day or so. For us it could mean some increased rain chances by Wednesday, as the moisture pushes northward.

Meanwhile, Gaston may regain strength over the next day or so. There is a difference between Gaston and the last several storms. Instead of curving out in the Atlantic, Gaston could move westward and end up in the Gulf of Mexico by the end of the week or next weekend. That bears watching.
