Today we face another round of storms and heavy rain thanks to the remnants of Tropical Storm Bonnie. With a weak frontal boundary still in the vicinity we’ll again watch the daytime heating fuel storms. Absent any significant winds in the upper levels again these storms will move slowly over our area producing heavy rain. There is again a slight risk of severe weather in the form of damaging winds. Of course anything can and does happen when storms develop- yesterday evening a weak tornado formed in Davidson County and damaged several homes. That’s the red dot you see over Nashville you see below, most of the wind damage reports (the blue dots) came from South Carolina.

The rain/storm coverage is forecasted to hit around 60% with some of these storms lasting into the evening. Below you see how the Storm Prediction Center again puts us in the 5% risk of damaging winds to occur within 25 miles of your home.










[...] Good morning, Nashville. Hopefully everyone is safe and sound after last night’s bout of bad weather. About 15 homes were damaged in the storm, but there were thankfully no reports of injuries. Though there was a report about an overturned semi on I-24, police determined that the story wasn’t true.
