Just a quick glance at the long range models to see what might be heading our way in this active El Nino winter. On Friday the deep south looks like getting some snow, a good one south of Birmingham. This is probably just flurries for us on Friday/Friday night.

Ten days later we see an impressive system moving across the south. If this turned out to be true it would be a twin to our last big one (the biggest snow we had gotten since 2003 in Nashville).

This is long range modeling so the timing, placement doesn’t mean anything. However given a strong AO and an active El Nino I would expext at least one more good snow in middle Tennessee this month.

Sweet!!!!! El Nino is spanish for The Nino
South of Birmingham….”The Snow Capital of the Mid South”
In my lifetime, I want ONE snow like what DC got this past weekend.
El Niño means Little Boy, Snow Repellent.

I agree. As long as getting out in it is optional. And, as long as I have no kids at home whining that they are bored. And we don’t lose power/cable/internet.
