Winter Advisory in effect for the northwest corner for this afternoon through Tuesday morning:
Today mostly just cloudy cover and highs around 40. This afternoon light rain starts to move in, it’ll be a mix of sleet/snow with that cold rain especially in the western and northern counties. Tonight while Nashville, Columbia, Murfreesboro and Franklin is getting rain/sleet Dover, Clarksville and Portland will be getting snow/sleet. As much of an inch of this could accumulate:

During the morning we’ll likely see a surge of warmer air transition the snow/sleet back to rain/sleet. Then cold plunges into our area to stick around the rest of the work week. Temperatures drop in the afternoon on Tuesday to around freezing as snow flys. Not expecting much in accumulation in the Nashville/Columbia/Murfreesboro area plus roads should be okay with temperatures being above freezing all this time. What ends up on the roads at the end of the day will freeze that night. By Wednesday morning temperatrues will be in the low 20’s.
Difficult forecast with the rain/snow along again right over middle Tennessee and the all-snow change over happening just as the storm is pulling away. Classic winter story in our area.

Is it me or did I see the snow accumulation model extend all the way into Franklin this morning?
