A frosty start this morning with lows hovering in the mid-30’s. A big jump in temperatures today with dry air and lots of sunshine. Highs should top out in mid to upper-60’s with some clouds arriving by mid-day. Those clouds will help tonight keep us out of the 30’s- the forecast low for BNA is 45 degrees. But a cold front bringing these clouds will also bring in another shot of cold air- highs tomorrow barely 60 degrees and partly cloudy. By Wednesday morning we’ll again be around freezing for a low.
Typically the growing season ends the last week of October. A hard freeze (one that kills most plants by freezing the water inside their cells) is described as a low of 32 or below for four hours or a low that hits 28 or lower. But in Nashville the growing season has extended 226 days and counting (typical: 204 days) after an early start this Spring. We’ll get close to a freeze again Wednesday morning and then again on Friday morning.
As wet as the last two months have been (+7.49 in September, +3.62 in October over normal) we start November very dry. For the first time in awhile no rain in the forecast for the next six days. A chance for some catch-up on these outdoor projects.
