As you can see above, wind gusts have been 30+ mph today.  Be careful driving high profile vehicles and working construction on roof tops.

The rain and storms will be near the Tennessee River during the afternoon hours, but they will be slow to move eastward.  The approximate ETA for Nashville would be in the 6-8pm time period.

You may have heard about the tornadoes, flooding, and damaging winds that occurred in Arkansas and north Louisiana last night and early this morning.  The natural question is, “Will it be that bad here in Middle Tennessee”?  Although we have the potential for some damaging winds and flooding with heavy rains tonight, the situation does not look nearly as bad as it was to our west.  Nonetheless, we could see several severe t ’storm warnings and flash flood warnings ovenight, so keep abreast of the weather.

Good news for Trick or Treaters:

The rain will taper off by lunchtime tomorrow.  However, front lawns will be very soggy, and temps will be falling through the low 50s to upper 40s during the evening, so dress warm.
