Saturday Forecast

I can’t find many reasons to disagree with the storm timing that Lisa laid out in Friday’s post.

It looks mainly dry this morning, but a southwest breeze will quickly lift temperatures into the upper 80s.

Thunderstorms are expected to pop up this afternoon, and the chance of rain will continue through this evening, tonight and Sunday morning. A few of the storms that develop could grow to severe limits, so we’ll monitor StormTracker this afternoon for the chance of hail and/or strong winds.

Scattered thunderstorms develop this afternoon.

The chance continues through tonight and Sunday morning.

The threat has really gone downward since we first knew about this threat 3-4 days ago. The slight risk area has been backed up every outlook that has been posted since it was issued on the Day 3 outlooks.

I agree vandyman and now we have cloud cover wich has droped the temp from 80 to78 and I just have a feeling we are not going to see widespread rain or storms. Also I hope this does not continue as we keep not getting rain as soon as june started and it,s starting to become a trend that I do not like.

  3. Hey gang….we’re breezy and warm over here in Cookeville…current readings are 84.7°…58% humidity…DEWPOINT IS 68.5 (WOW!)….winds are SSW at 3 mph with gusts to 13 mph….barometer is 30.11 and falling…while I agree we need a little more sunshine to see things POP, we definitely have a juicy atmosphere and with the front pressing in, we have a decent setup.

A MSD is out for areas of Central KY northward where an upgrade to MDT risk is going to happen in the next updated outlook. Close enough to us to get me excited a bit.

We just had a big storm come through the western side of White County and took a Bradford Pear tree down in our front yard.

We just had a really nice 15 minute heavy shower move through Mt. Juliet. A few more of these and the grass won’t be so crunchy.. I’m hearing a little thunder as it moves off to the NE. It will probably be a nice little storm by the time it gets through Sumner Co.
