Rain Fizzling in North Middle Tennessee
Although our southern counties are seeing light rain, it is not near the amount anticipated. Here in Nashville and the north part of Middle Tennessee rains have fizzled for now. There still may be some additional shower or t’shower activity later as a front and low approach from the west, but for now we have a big break. Morning rains dumped about 1/2-1″ of rain in many areas around Nashville. Nashville has had .55″ since around midnight.
The Storm Prediction Center has removed the “slight risk” from our southern counties, so severe weather is not expected there.
The best news is the steady rains are soaking the Birmingham to Atlanta corridor that really needs the rain and is still considered to be in “extreme drought” (see graphic in entry below).

Yeah Davis, it’s good to see Birmingham, Atlanta, and places over in extreme southeastern TN get the good soaking rains. And I’m glad that’s all it is too and not any severe weather. But in Southern AL and the panhandle of FL is getting kind of rough.

It looks like a few showers and storms are popping up to the west. The rain may not be over for some yet.

We’ve had just about .40 since 7 am…certainly a lot less than expected.

We have had just over half an inch in McMinnville. They were calling for up to 3 inches for my area, but most of the heavy rain stayed just to the south and east.
