Heavy Rain Ahead

Morning light rain becomes heavy rain with storms this afternoon and evening. We could end up with 1″ totals common across the area with our southern counties getting close to 2″. Some severe weather risk across the south this afternoon as well. The big rains around this evening until a cold front moves through late. This will cause the rain to taper off, maybe a passing light shower tomorrow morning but a mostly cloudy and mostly dry Friday ahead.

We’ve got heavy rain forecast today so with that being said don’t drive through roadways covered with water. It is way too risky.

Well we have received .43 since yesterday morning here in Sumner County. Guess I will go to work today since not much else can be done besides cleaning the house. I hope the rain ends tomorrow as my DD has her class trip to Six Flags, what ever happened to the 8th grade trips to Washington DC? lol Have a great day everyone and stay dry

I wish are Senior Trip would go to Washington D.C., but all we go to is Hawaii. I could care a less about Hawaii. I would like to travel 3 hours to the Smoky Mountains then go 18 hours away to Hawaii. I would chose the Smoky Mountains over Hawaii any day. That’s just my opinion though.

The severe risk is more south of Nashville right? Like Murfreesboro and south? I’m with Vandyman, I’d rather go to the Smokies than Hawaii!

dopplerdave, yes. The severe threat will stay to the south. And to those of you knotheads that would prefer D.C. to Hawaii…WTH are you thinking? Hawaii is the epitome of paradise. I’ve been to both places and while each place has its own pros and cons, I would clearly fly 8 hours to Hawaii than drive 10 hours to D.C. Just my opinion, though.
