Wet Start to Our Monday

We start the work week with yet more rain. We’ll end the month of March with above-normal rainfall, about an inch above normal (which is 4.87″) for Nashville. April starts with April showers, rain overnight and tomorrow. We won’t see much in sunshine today save for a glimpse of it this afternoon between the rain. Combined with a south wind the afternoon high should reach near 70 degrees. But rain right back in this evening, some storms possible overnight and by the morning commute tomorrow. Here is how Predictor looks in the overnight and tomorrow afternoon as a front moves through. We’ll finally see some sunshine again on Wednesday!

Hey ya’ll! Glad to be back in my neck of the woods! I’m sad to say that I didn’t get all my round of golf in! We made it to the 13th hole and it started Thundering and raining! Looks like Jason has made a comeback yet again! I won’t tell ya my golf score due to the fact that it proboly wouldn’t fit on this page! I will say though that I pared the 12th right before the thunder and rain came! Nice to see the rain this morning!

We’re over 5+ inches up here in Cookeville as well…raining as of now, too.

I see tornado watches & severe thunderstorm watches out west. Is the general thinking that this system won’t be as strong as it nears us?

Looking ahead in the long range models, does anyone forsee a late freeze like we had last year? Some of my plants never did recover.

I hope we don’t have a late freeze. Once snow is over I want warm weather. But I also don’t want those 100’s like we had last summer.

I think all our freezes are done personally.

How come the storms don’t ever come through during the day while we’re at work? Is Mother Nature a third shifter?

I’m not near a TV so I’m wondering if somebody on here can help. I see tornado watches bunching up out to our west along with a mesoscale discussion that could involve extreme western Tennessee. I have not seen, heard or read anything about severe weather in our neck of the woods for tonight or tomorrow. So, is the general idea that the storms won’t be bad for us? It’s 70 degrees and sunny outside so I worry about how it’s going to be when that line of storms comes our way.

DopplerDave, I think by the time the system gets to us, the system will have diminished quite a bit. We don’t have the dynamics in place “this time” for a big event. It might get a bit rumbly, but a thankfully, just garden-variety for us…though an isolated severe storm would not be out of the question.

That is just my very HUMBLE opinion. :)

Thanks for the reply, I was thinking everybody in cyber world and News 2 were busy watching baseball! LOL I hope it will die down before reaching us. Thanks again.

I agree with Servo on this one…garden-variety type of thunder and lightning, but nothing severe at this point.
