Warmer Today

We have a very cold start this morning with temperatures in the low 20’s and upper teens. But a south wind and some sunshine will provide a big jump toward the mid-40’s by afternoon. We’ll have clouds coming in later today, those clouds will bring rain by tomorrow morning. The rain will be around most of the day, mostly light stuff. That should clear out by late in the day and we’ll enjoy a dry weekend. Yesterday it got above freezing at Nashville for only one hour, today will be much warmer.

Not a good start to the day! Been waiting since 5:00 last evening to see Macon scroll across the screen! Since Clay and Jackson are out, our vocational kids won’t go to voc. today and only have to work 5 out of the 8 hours! While the college bound kids have to work for the whole 8 hours! Have a Spanish Test today! Since we missed yesterday and also have one tomorrow! NOOOOOOOOOOO!

Well we’ll go from snow to rain and 50s in 2 days, Tennessee weather. What year of Spanish are you in?

Are the chances for snow looking better or worse for Monday Night into Tuesday?

Matt, I for one hope its for the better!

  5. on February 28th, 2008 at 9:22 am

I hope so too. I am going on the record tho, that I have given up, for a good 4 or 5 inches of snow in Nashville ever. I guess it just isn’t meant to be. I guess I will be going up North to see weather like that. So yes, I have lost hope. Hope for snow in Nashville. Hope that we will ever see the white stuff build up to a good amount. ( ok now that my dramatic side is over with) I really do hope to see alot of RAIN….on tuesday. Remember what I said. Nashville does not get snow it gets RAIN. (Wink) So lets hope for lots a rain.

    Hey Jeff or Davis..

Ya’ll wanna chime in on what your thoughts are for March 3-4? I know you have been looking at those models, and by george I’m getting pretty interested in how these things have been consistant… Low needs to move a little east, but my thoughts are Severe Weather then wrap-around moisture turning to snow showers, ground will be pretty warm so…. Hummmm I just don’t know. If you don’t want to answer that, I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND!! LOL! Still pretty far out for confidence just yet..

  9. on February 28th, 2008 at 12:56 pm

And also, if there is any new people out there that would like to see the models.. NAM and GFS, here is a thing I found that combines the two and show what precip type will be coming down at the time so you dont have to worry about where the 32 degree line is or whatnot… A really simple, easy tool to use, so you can join in our weather discussions!!

Clay stop it please! LOL! This is my first year! My teacher thought is giving us work out of his Freshman and Senior college workbooks! I’m about to have a cow in his class! But the SNOWstorm that is lurking in the future, really has me pumped! We only have one SNOW day left due to the Tornado and I don’t agree to that at all! We HAD to get out for the tornado and with SNOW it is a judgement call, not mandatory! So I hope they give us are 9 days out that we missed due to SNOW and count it as a disaster, because that was what it was!

Ryan wins the best finding of weather related material on the internet. Way to go Ryan. That stuff is rockin. This award is only given out once a year. Sorry to any hopefuls of trying to get it. You got one more year to wait!

Here’s a fun fact… St Louis, Missouri has received more snowfall this winter than Bismarck, North Dakota. (STL-20″ BISMARCK-16″)

  25. on February 28th, 2008 at 5:43 pm

That is very intresting Clay….very much indeed.

Here in Junction City, KS we only get 6 snow days.

It has to snow more than 8 inches before they even think about us getting out of school. The snow then has to be wet and stickey (doesnt happen that often its usually dry). Or the power must be knocked out for days due to a massive ice storm. (4 days outta of school this year…miserable the whole time)

When it comes to severe weather days. Forget it! Tornado Outbreak days here, constiture cancellations of only after school activities not school itself.

Here in Junction City Kansas school goes on no matter what! (unless a storm is truly lucky)

Be lucky that in Tennessee they call off for anything! And enjoy your 9+ built in snow days with electricity and heat!

    on February 28th, 2008 at 8:36 pm

So, you have still gotten what… 30 inches of snow this season. All we have is 1.2 inches this year. You moved from snow drought to snow country. Enjoy and count your many snow filled blessings! :)

Well I don’t know what Lisa thinks but the 0Z gfs looks good for a decent change over to snow.
