Cloudy Sunday, Mild Monday, Cold Beginning to New Year

predictor-12-29.jpg

We expect skies to be mostly cloudy on Sunday keeping temps in the upper 40s for highs, though some late afternoon sun may get us up to 50. Monday will be mild with highs in the mid 50s, possibly even higher to the south. But then the bottom drops out. Our 7 Day Forecast (to the right) still calls for an arctic front to leave temps in the low to mid 30s for highs, and near 20 with teens outlying areas for lows. Winds will be 15-35 mph on Tuesday. We expect snow flurries and snow showers Tuesday afternoon and evening into Wednesday morning, with a whitening of the ground possible in our eastern counties.

0z GFS is pretty good concerning our chances of flurries/light snow on the 1st. NAM is more concervitive. Looks like a batch in the morning and some more later that night into the 2nd.

conservative is the word you’re looking for cameron. Light snow at best if GFS verfies. Accums should not be able to exceed one inch in that case.
