With a warm front pushing up from the south, we expect temperatures to reach about 72 on Sunday. The record high is 71 set in 1952. This evening in Nashville, there will still be fog and mist around so drive carefully. But notice on the satellite view above that on the other side of that warm front there is a little more sunshine. That’s what is headed our way. We will still have a few scattered showers around on Sunday, but more sunshine and record warmth will make for a better day compared to the foggy and misty Saturday we just had.

Looks like the NWS has issued a Dense Fog Advisory for tonight in the Northern Counties near the KY border.
Short Term Forecast talks about fog as well in the rest of the counties.

Our record high over here on the Plateau for December 9th was 73 set back in 1978. We’ll see how close we get on Sunday.

We’ll Kevin I’m not surprised. That is about how warm it felt late last Summer. (You’d think that they would change the error) Boy it’s warm… my car thermometer read 64 in Brentwood at 8:45 PM.

Maybe
James Spann called the gulf low a few days ago so I feel a little better about our chances and considering it is less than seven days away. Let’s see if we can get some model consistency.
Don’t hold your breath guys.
That low will be interesting to track, but its been showing up only every other model run. Its entirely possible that it will disappear all day today, show back up Monday.
I figure we’ll know by Wednesday whether or not there’s a serious chance. Because if that low doesn’t form in the gulf, temps are gonna bust that day as well. We need for the low Thursday to push the front through enough to get us near freezing, so the second low on Saturday will pull the gradient tighter and give us some convective snow.
Crossing fingers.
You know, I’m startin’ to think that Global Warming is real!
… Hope the temperatures warm up again around the 19th -20th… When my Canadian boyfriend comes down for Christmas, I want him to see how hot this place can be!
