Nice Friday

No much in wind and clear skies have allowed temperatures to drop down into the 20’s this morning. With this dry air (dewpoints are in the low 20’s) and morning sunshine we should get out of the chill quickly and warm to around 50 by noon. Highs today will top off in the low 50’s depending on how much afternoon cloud cover moves in from the west. December starts tomorrow with dry weather but clouds. It’ll be warm, in the 60’s both Saturday and Sunday. But Sunday it’ll be cloudy, windy and wet with heavy rain possible by afternoon and evening. On the other side of this front is a week’s worth of cold air- highs all next week will only be around 50.

Cold morning. I have 30 degrees here in South Nashville. Looks like a nice Saturday is on it’s way. I’ll have to finish putting up lights. MTWC Seven Day and Weekend forecast released.

We’re in the middle 20’s out here in Cookeville! I, too, will be putting up lights on the outside of my home.

Amazing how the GFS on Dec 8 went from snow to unseasonably warm. A complete 180. They need to do away with the 15 day forecasts. NONE of the long range forecasts will EVER hit. NEVER.

Well chris, they do it just to give you an idea of what may be possible out there. But yes, it does make a lot of changes.

Well, guess I need to move to Colorado if I want any snow. I know. It is still earlier. Just really want lots of snow this year.

Finally get to go to a Titans game on Sunday, but it looks like a TOTAL wash out. What is the timing of the heavy rain coming in?

  8. on November 30th, 2007 at 3:56 pm

What a winter storm they have brewing out there to the west!! Thats the system that will be bringing our heavy rains and winds, I guess.. A big pouch of cold air needs to park it right on middle tenn!! Whaday say??

Precip should leave before it gets that cold.

  14. on November 30th, 2007 at 8:32 pm

I agree, it won’t be cold enough..and when it does get on down there early next week, the precip won’t be here.

Same here. The usual scenario when the surface low passes to the north of us. The precip is gone by the time the cold air arrives.

I don’t doubt it Mr. Fry. I’m very interested in hr 120-132 in the gfs. It sure is close enough to be out of no mans land. It would be fun to see the flakes flying.
