Wet Weather Ahead…
Your Sunday starts with clouds and patchy drizzle. Temperatures will try to climb out of the 40s to the 50s this afternoon. A few showers are expected today, with longer periods of rain for areas west of I-65 like Clarksville, Dover, Camden, Hopkinsville and Paris.
After dark, especially toward midnight, the rain and wind will pick up. Between midnight and early Monday morning we expect lots of heavy rain and some thunder for Nashville and the I-65 corridor. Additional showers will continue Monday from late morning through afternoon. Rain totals from this system will range from 1″ to 2″.

Bring on the rain! We can sure use it.
I ran my numbers for the last 6 months and we’ve measured 16.37″ of rain here at my home. 27.08″ is the average (for the last 30 years), so we are 60% of normal here in Cookeville.

Forecasting past 7 days is very subject to change, but early next week looks somewhat interesting in terms of something wintry to me. Lets see how things unfold.

I love the transitions into cooler weather. Makes me more excited for snow.. Flooding happens alot more in Tennessee during the winter time, read that from the National Weather Service.. But everyone stay dry and warm..

Honestly I don’t see a whole lot of chance for wintry precip other than flurries and sleet on the front end of a system or two. GFS shows a chance of light snow on the rear end of a system, but that doesn’t look to pan out to anything more than a show of flurries. Who knows though. “voooo land” gfs time frame trends have not been even as stable as they usually are. Earlier runs have shown substantial cold shots while the new 18z shows unusual warmth for the period followed by a strong front around day 15 or 16. Anyways, early December has the ability to surprise. Would not be surprised to see a system come into play a week or two into December that would bring a notable amount of wintry precip.
