Nice Friday

No much in wind and clear skies have allowed temperatures to drop down into the 20’s this morning. With this dry air (dewpoints are in the low 20’s) and morning sunshine we should get out of the chill quickly and warm to around 50 by noon. Highs today will top off in the low 50’s depending on how much afternoon cloud cover moves in from the west. December starts tomorrow with dry weather but clouds. It’ll be warm, in the 60’s both Saturday and Sunday. But Sunday it’ll be cloudy, windy and wet with heavy rain possible by afternoon and evening. On the other side of this front is a week’s worth of cold air- highs all next week will only be around 50.

A few showers by Sunday.

Morning Clouds, Cooler Winds

Instead of a south wind like yesterday today we get a north wind. A cold front pushed across middle Tennessee this morning; clouds to start the day but some sunshine this afternoon. We’ll be about 10 degrees cooler than yesterday, below are the forecasted highs for the day. Still looking like the next chance of rain will be Sunday when a strong cold front moves towards us. Some good rains possible along with some thunderstorms Sunday afternoon and evening.

Cool Thursday

Low 60s felt nice on Wednesday but a north wind will hold temps to the low 50s Thursday:

Nice Afternoon Ahead

We start the morning at freezing and below but once the little bit of fog clears we’ll have a very nice day for our Wednesday. Highs should rebound quite nicely into the low 60’s around the Nashville area, upper 50’s up on the plateau. A cold front moves in early tomorrow morning and should be past most of middle Tennessee by daybreak. The colder air will mean highs tomorrow only around 50 in the Nashville area.

Weather Warms Up on Wednesday

A chilly start a little below freezing Wednesday morning but a south wind at 10 and sunshine will push us into the low 60s by afternoon. Enjoy!

A Little Sunshine Today

Finally we get the sun to reappear today after several days of rain and clouds. Clouds to start the morning but they should quickly clear out. Highs today will reach into the seasonable range: the low side of the mid-50’s. Tonight under clear skies the temperatures will drop toward freezing; we’ll have a little bit of a southeast wind so that might keep some of the urban areas from getting below freezing. Highs tomorrow in the low 60’s thanks to sunshine and a south wind. Below are the forecasted highs for today:

A Little More Rain

The steady rain happened overnight across middle Tennessee. We have a strong low pressure system moving right overhead by mid day- this will make for some showers and windy conditions for most of the day. Temperatures will start to drop this afternoon as a passing front veers the wind from south to west. We’ll get down into the 30’s tonight and have a high tomorrow (with some sunshine) only in the low 50’s. Below are the forecasted highs for today, temperatues before the the front sweeps through around mid-day.

1-2″ of Rain Likely For Many Areas Tonight and Monday

If you follow the radars (see regional radar composite), you see all the rain coming our way. Most areas should see around an inch of rain tonight through Monday, with some areas possibly seeing 2″.

Temperatures tonight will rise through the 50s, so don’t worry about any frozen precipitation. With warming temps, we should see some thunderstorms in the mix late tonight through the first half of Monday. No severe weather is anticipated, though some ponding of water on the roadways Monday morning making rush hour a mess.

Wet Weather Ahead…

Your Sunday starts with clouds and patchy drizzle. Temperatures will try to climb out of the 40s to the 50s this afternoon. A few showers are expected today, with longer periods of rain for areas west of I-65 like Clarksville, Dover, Camden, Hopkinsville and Paris.

After dark, especially toward midnight, the rain and wind will pick up. Between midnight and early Monday morning we expect lots of heavy rain and some thunder for Nashville and the I-65 corridor. Additional showers will continue Monday from late morning through afternoon. Rain totals from this system will range from 1″ to 2″.
