Drought Improving…Some Spots
Compare last week’s drought map to this week’s drought map. The drought is easing a bit for some spots west of I-65, particularly in West Tennessee. We have a long way to go, but at least we’re headed in the right direction.

What happened to that line of showers that was to come through with the cold front. Are we still in for some rain tonight?

I was just wondering where the cold front is located at at this point in time. Is there a website that posts the current location of a front at any given time? Just wondering, thanks.

Yes Jon there is. Click on Surface Maps under links. Near the top of the page you will see a map called current weather.
Also regarding the rain. My guess is our actual rain chance of it died. I think a couple days ago the theory was that the moisture from Humberto was suppose to fuel the cold front. It just did’nt turn out that way for some reason. Could be a number of reasons why.

I might be missing the lingo here, but I’m not sure if severe is worse than extreme or exceptional is better than the other two….Map Key please?
Thanks

Sandra, I was confused about the same thing a while ago. Try to think of it like a radar sorta. Here’s the key
Yellow is abnormally dry.
Pale/tan is moderate.
Orange is severe.
Red is extreme.
And dark red is exceptional. Exceptional is the worst. Notice you don’t see any yellow or pale/tan in Tn. It may help to look at this site here and book mark it possibly.
