Yay my picture made it!
My game is bad enough on a good day!
I guess my humidifier did work rural Williamson county got a good dusting!!! Great pictures!
Okay, here is a question.
Where did that snow burst come from? ANd why did it just park itself over the Nashville Metro area? I don’t remember seeing anything like this happening in this neck of the woods in a while, just appearing, and then parking itself over Nashville.
Well Jeremy, it suddenly realised how many whining people (myself included) there were in Nashville and also because of the “plateau getting more” and southern counties earlier in the month, well God decided to give Davidson and Williamson counties a break!! lol!
But one thing I can’t really comprehend is why the Schools are out???? The roads are fine, and because it’s way too cold, the snow is still dusty, so there’s no ice! Cracks me up!! Why wasn’t I living here when I was a kid!!! Man!!
Please make up your mind on Sat forecast.
What’s that painted on the radar over Jackson, TN???
that’d be snow on the radar near Jackson that is headed our way!

…VERY LIGHT SNOW TODAY WITH LITTLE OR NO ACCUMULATION…
COLD AIR WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE INTO THE MID STATE TODAY AS AN UPPER
LEVEL DISTURBANCE CROSSES THE AREA. LIGHT SNOW HAS ALREADY BEEN
REPORTED IN WEST TENNESSEE…WITH NO MORE THAN A DUSTING AT MOST
LOCATIONS. THIS LIGHT SNOW WILL AFFECT MIDDLE TENNESSEE THIS
AFTERNOON. SNOW AMOUNTS FROM THIS WEATHER SYSTEM WILL CONTINUE TO BE
VERY LIGHT. MOST OF MIDDLE TENNESSEE WILL HAVE ONLY A TRACE OF
PRECIPITATION. A FEW AREAS MAY HAVE A QUICK DUSTING ON GRASSY
AREAS…BUT NO SIGNIFICANT ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED.

To Gray:
The schools are out due to snow. No, it didn’t hit the entire area…however parts of Mount Juliet and Hermitage (Hermitage is a part of Davidson County) saw about 2 inches of snow that eventaully got packed and icy. The decision to close was a good one even though it didn’t affect the entire county. The parts that were affected were VERY affected.
Also, it appears the light snow in west Tennessee is falling apart. No more snow for us…
Hey Mike,
You have a very nice site/blog! Kudos to ya! But anyways, I hope we have one of those snow showers park right over the Coble/Centerville area.. That would be really nice.
Has anyone noticed the Weather Channel has upped the snow chance to 60%??? Is it looking real good for snow on Sat. Any thoughts?
Only a little bit on the radar will go a lot in accumulation. I have good faith about the snow on saturday.
(SNOW… its GRRRREEAAT!!! say’s Tony the tiger.
Here’s the gfs look on saturday. Just let it do it’s loop and you’ll see. Also fix the end of the link to say slp_m_loop.shtml

Thanx Cameron. I think snow is GGGGGRRRRRREAT too. Keeping my fingers crossed for one last good one before spring gets here.
I agree, it appears from generally everyone that snow chances for Saturday have increased greatly.
Is there anyone out there around the Tennessee River seeing snow flurries? That system (as Davis Nolen sadi yesterday) appears to have pretty much fallen apart; however, I was wondering if there is snow out there too light to be detected by radar.
What I saw on weather.com 10 day forecast has dropped it to 40% from 60% earlier, and is saying Rain/Snow. What is going on? And I and fed up with old man winter playing these games with us!
Im close to the Tennessee River, over here in Hickman County.. We have bright sunny skies and a temp. of 25.. Not much in the way of cloud cover at all..
Weather Channel has dropped out snow chances to 30% now.. That sucks
I hope Jason becomes a meteorologist some day if he ever grows up.
What are the lastet models saying? We need this one. I think this is our LAST SHOT!
Try not to pay too much attention to the 10 day forecast on TWC. It fluctuates between different models way too much!
Thanks Carl.. did not realise it was that big of a fall overnight. I thought it was heavier towards franklin, but maybe not.
Where is the system expected to track? If it’s simply a clipper system that tracks through the Ohio Valley, then forget it. We’ll be lucky to get a few snow showers. If it tracks near the TN/AL border, then we stand a good chance to get an inch or two. The track of the system will be the deciding factor.
Possible a light dusting this afternoon. It’s sunny in Smith County right now. Blue skies. But I’m crossing my fingers for this afternoon and this weekend. Take all the snow we can get.
I know nothing about the radar, so I’ll ask you guys. I’m looking at the NWS radar and it looks like it’s doing something in KY, Clarksville and north of Florence AL. Am I seeing things?
well g, their is a band of light snow forming in central ky. that is extending thru about clarksville. it looks as if we will see some more snow flurries and snow showers tonight so kids may get out again stay tuned.
Clouds really need to thinken up then.. We have had sunny skies since 8:30 this morning. Temps are still in the 20s though.
Cold outside isn’t it. Earlyer this morninig I was getting windchills in the single digits.
What about Saturday? Is there still hope?
Spring grow a pair and post your real name. and I would never be a forecaster, I hate to lie, and that is there job.
Your funny Jason. You otta Bee a comedian.I love pears.
At least he’s given himself a name it’s a lot better than having to adress him by Anonoumous.
Chris, there is still hope. The tricky part is puting out snow totals. Last night there was only suposed to be flurries but I got .35 an inch. 2 to 4.5 inches should not be put of the question, wait a while and see what the mets think. I’m not gonna post possible totals because it would be crazy.
Off to the storm aleart tour in jasper see ya.
Ryan:
Thanks for the kind words about my blog….it’s really a labor of love…trying to enhance or add to the other weather blogs (like this one) on the web. This one is my favorite due to the sheer traffic numbers.
Thanks again for the compliments….
