Above is the visible satellite image from 10:31 am (Sunday February 18th). That’s snow cover, not cloud cover, across northern and eastern sections of Middle Tennessee. A rundown of snow totals courtesy of the Nashville NWS:
ACCUMULATIONS UP TO 1 INCH WERE COMMON FOR AREAS ALONG AND NORTH OF INTERSTATE 40. SOME AREAS ALONG THE KENTUCKY BORDER…EAST OF I 65…HAD MORE THAN 2 INCHES. MOST OF THE TRAVEL PROBLEMS THIS MORNING ARE ON BACK ROADS…MAINLY NORTH OF I 40 AND EAST OF I 65.
HEAVIER SNOWFALL OCCURRED ACROSS THE CUMBERLAND PLATEAU. AREAS BETWEEN COOKEVILLE AND CROSSVILLE…AND NORTH TO JAMESTOWN HAD SNOW ACCUMULATIONS FROM 3 TO 5 INCHES…WITH LOCALIZED 6 TO 7 INCH AMOUNTS IN THE HIGHEST ELEVATIONS. MANY ROADS REMAINED SNOW COVERED ACROSS THE NORTHERN CUMBERLAND PLATEAU.

Jeff, Thanks!
That will be explained in the final parts of my March Outlook. Click my name to go there.
There is a new section just for guests. Kailyn L. will probably kill me for making one, but I felt that as many guests come to our site, that it would be nice to dedicate a section to y’all. Thanks!
I want spring to come, but I see we may be teased with some snow around 240 hours from now. It is also far out so most likely it will change.
The gfs shows one more snow chance on the 28th. My personal thoughts are that the ground may be to warm with all the warm weather coming up. Again another tease will be coming up. Now how am I gonna think spring with a snow chance coming up? At the same time I want
spring and the snow. Here it is. Also great snow pics everyone. I’d send some in but I don’t have any snow on the ground. Dusting is all I got.( said with extreme disapointment and anger) ;[ Heres the gfs.

Cameron, Don’t count on it. 6 and 18z runs have put that low out at sea.
Cameron….”teased with snow 240 hours out”…dude that is VOO-DOO land bigtime…that’s 10 days…we struggle to get it right when we’re looking at 4 or 5 days in advance….
The Plateau had wonderful snow…look over at my blog for the pics!
