A few rain showers are possible today and tonight, mainly west of Nashville. The marjority of the mid-state will stay dry until late tonight and tomorrow morning. The Tuesday morning commute looks wet; we may hear a few rumbles of thunder and the rain will be heavy at times. Rain totals will be between 1″ and 2″ with this round of wet weather. A few flurries are possible on the backside of this system, especially on the Cumberland Plateau Tuesday night. Back to winter chill midweek through next weekend…

I guess snow is over for the Winter of 2006 - 2007, huh? (Measurable, not flurries)
I dunno maybe not.. Lets hope not..
Winter is not over until the 21st of march. keep that in mind.
President’s Day weekend oftentimes beings a big snow. Temps will be cold enough and looking at the 7-day, it seems there might be a shot for some winter precip on Sat. night.
Bring on Spring!!!Don’t want anymore winter and I have lived here for a long time so the snow chances are pretty much over.May have flurries but that is about it.Hope that the long range forcasts I have seen will hold true to warm weather.I am sorry guys but Can’t wait until Spring.
News 2 crack webmaster banned a bunch of people from posting on the blog. That is the reason it has been so quiet.
Spring is great but on the downside involves yard work, mowing (twice a week if it is a warm rainy season), would like a little more harsh cold snap to kill of all the bugs that are going to start appearing soon.
I am so glad they have found a way to ban these foul mothed children. WAY TO GO!!!
I am so glad they have found a way to ban these foul mouthed children. WAY TO GO!!!
I’m with you on the cold weather. Bring on 6 inch snow and 3-4 days cold weather and kill all the bugs off. I love spring, but we’ve not had enough cold weather. Spring and summer won’t be fun if it doesn’t come a good freeze.
looks like this saturday may be a big snowstorm for tenn hope there right
I hardly think so Don.
We VERY SELDOM get a descent snow after Feb 20. Only happened once in 43 years and that was March 13 1993
LOL nice post.
What is funny, the fact that you guys banned my MAC addy, guys please don’t try and play god with this blog. You had better learn the black arts before trying this mass banning. if you knew what you were really doing I would not be on here posting now……
BTW nice forecast.
What about the snow several years back maybe 2002 or so when we had a big snow in April?
Yeah, its definitely NOT been cold enough to kill bugs!!! (said with the utmost sarcasm)
is there anyone who can tell me where i can get a record of the last 15 days temps? thanks
Jason,”Get A Life”!
i hope it storms real bad tomorrow morning. because i love storms.
peace.
After watch the Weather video from alabamawx.com, it looks like our best chance for some accumulating snow will come Saturday and in the seven day forecast…the model looks promising now, but again I think I’ll wait till about 2.5minutes away before getting my hopes up.
Oh yeah, what are the chances will see LARGE size hail with this system tonight/tomorrow, Davis or anyone on the News 2 wx team? I don’t want my car to get banged up =/
Thanks

Well, Part 1 of my GFS Analysis gives you my take on the possible moderating trend coming up.
Clay
I must tell you
Change the color on your posts it makes it really hard to read .
Just letting you know
Hey Lorrie, Cut and paste http://www.weather.gov/climate/index.php?wfo=ohx into your browser. Go to Preliminary Data and Most Recent for most of what you need and then Jan 07 for the rest.
Hi Verbatim,
Not too worried about large hail although interested to see just how active things get south and southeast of Nashville as we get into mid morning.
Fixed it for the time being.
Check out Frank Strait’s blog on accuweather.com. He is indicating that some foreign models(mainly the Canadian and Japanese) have been forecasting some accumulations of snow for us on Saturday/night and Sunday. This goes against the GFS but hey, I would tend to go against the GFS at this point in the season(hasn’t been very accurate).
He sounds pretty excited about it and likes to say Ya’ll quite a bit but I will stick with yinz as that is proper english if your from the Burgh. Yinz goin dwntwn for a pizzer! Translated . Our you going Downtown for a Pizza.
THANKS LISA,I WAS ABLE TO GET THE INFO I NEEDED FROM YOUR LINK.
Greengrass… In my opinion, Japenese and Euro models are the most accurate models on the web, especially the Japanese model. If anyone is looking for an accurate model, I highly recommend using them for short-to-mid term forecasts. I just so happen to have the link for the Euro Model. Click my name.
Looking at the long range forecasts, this weekend will be our last chance for measurable snow this year. Unless by some miracle, it snows in March. And the last time that has happened was 1999, when about one inch occurred. So it’s now or never, most likely.
Clay,
Check out the Low pressure diving much further south than what some other experts are saying. If that happens(its a forecast), then look out mid-south. Sheeeee youuuu!! Snow could accumulate!! Better get us some provisions from the local market. I can hear the cash registers! We are due!
I hope it storms
No major snow if any falls, but an inch or so would be pretty.
Clay do you notice the japenese model is really inflating the saterday snow chance? I saw it off James spann’s forecast.
I haven’t had the chance to visit alabamawx this evening. (homework) I think it is illegal to distribute the Jap. Model online?
I have updated all the sites forecasts’
West Tennessee Weather Center: armleg.com/wtwc
Middle Tennessee Weather Center: armleg.com/twzufd
East Tennessee Weather Center: armleg.com/emtc
I really think saterday will be a good chance for snow (gut feeling). Can’t wait to here what Lisa has got to say in her weather cast.
Interesting thoughts about the Saturday forecast….I’ve posted more thoughts on the next several days over at my blog….click on my name to read…also a great picture from Mt. Washington!
off the weather for a sec im from sandiego and just herd the cgargers fired marty s and I just have this feeling he will end up in nashville with in the next 2 years
Part 2 of my analysis is done, and so is my studying… yay!
If you’re going to post at least make it worth your while to spell simple words correctly.
Cameron K. The last day of the week is spelt S-a-t-u-r-d-a-y. Not “S-a-t-e-r-d-a-y.”
Big deal, Weatherman. As long as you got my general concept of what I was trying to say, that’s all that matters. A lot of people here on the weather blog misspell words or leave out ones or have typos. In fact, I don’t believe the slang “spelt” is the correct English word (it’s S-P-E-L-L-E-D), at least that’s what the dictionary says, but I still get the general concept of what you’re saying.
