I just got in from playing with the melting snow with my daughter, and I would like to commend our friends at The National Weather Service. Yesterday afternoon, Bobby Boyd (a great forecaster and a great guy) with the NWS in Nashville predicted “up to an inch”. I thought we’d see flurries and light snow, but the dry air wouldn’t allow enough to come down to accumulate. Great job guys! Bobby has also always been very helpful in digging up lots of neat facts, figures, and statistics from the past and putting them out on their web site and the weather wires for all to see.
We’ve got more tricky forecasting for this week, and we’ll talk about that this afternoon. Happy Super Bowl!

Northern Nashville got an inch.
Cool Springs got a dusting.
Here in Thopmson’s Station, I got a rock. LoL
Sorry, It’s, here in Thompson’s Station, I got a rock. lol
We got around 1/2 inch here in the Cookeville area.
I’m interested in looking at the ‘tricky forecast’ for this upcoming week.
Mike, sign up for the ETWC then i will promote you to admin. Is that ok for you?
Well, you predicted flurries and that’s just what we got here (Manchester). They were flying around with the sun out (that looked a little odd) and created a minor dusting on a few surfaces, but that’s about it…t’was nice while it lasted.
Could someone explain this ‘tricky forecast’ for the upcoming week because I’m not seeing any really good opportunities for snow/sleet or any real precipitation that would cause a problem for that matter. I know NWS and the seven day has a small chance of moisture Tues. and Tues. night but other than that it just looks MOSTLY dry and COLD.
Well no snow for us in the southern parts but had a strange observation with weather this morning. About 4am we had some gusty winds pass thur here. At first I notice we were a bit warmer than earlier, it was 34 degrees up from being in the 20’s. At 9:30 am checked again as the house was freezing and we were 28 here. Perhaps we transported some of our moist air so you all could get your snow!
well, thanks, your moisture = my one inch of snow.
Sorry I guess that was kinda mean.
The GFS Analysis for February 4th has been posted. It addresses the warm temperatures that have been predicted by Weather.com and Accuweather.com about 10 days out. Click my name to see it.

Davis was right on the money for the forcast for here also.. a few flurries, but we still have the snow on the ground from Thursday and Friday. Backroads are still snow covered where the sun dont shine. Wouldny surprise me if Hickman was out again on Monday.
