A weak cold front is pushing across Tennessee this morning. That surface boundary means I have to mention an isolated shower in today’s forecast, though Sunday brings a much better opportunity for rain. Temperatures are in the 50s this morning (the thirty-year average for today calls for highs in the upper 40s). We’ll make a run at 60 degrees later today thanks to a mix of sun and clouds. Not bad for early January, unless you’re wishing for winter.

Low pressure will pass to our south tomorrow and that will bring rain for Sunday. Temperatures will be cooler tomorrow, in the upper 40s to near 50 degrees. Behind that system it looks windy and…colder! We’ll call it 40s on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (Tuesday might only be in the 30s). There is a slim chance that the Cumberland Plateau could see a few wet flakes late Sunday night and then again on Tuesday.

Now that would have been a trip to look up and see
