With the ground so cold this first round of snow showers left a dusting just before the sun went down in some areas west of Nashville.

  3. Anonymous says:

Well,Looks like another bust. well at least a lot of kids will get out of school though. Maybe before I die we will get a good snow.

Good Night & Happy Snow Hunting!!!!

  4. HAHAHA, yeah true.. but now were talking about snow and all so you are all calm and everything. But in the Spring time we can still talk atcha.. But I wish that SNOW WOULD FALL HERE!!

  5. shaq725 says:

Ill be up to but it seems as if the precip is cutting off back to the west

  6. David F. in Murfreesboro says:

I’m ALOT calmer now then during the bad storms

  7. Carl says:

To anyone reading this between Nashville and the TN river…Is it snowing there?

  8. Cameron Fry says:

I’ve noticed there’s a huge difference b/t dewpoint and relative humidity b/t the Tennessee River and here in Nashville…I would imagine these values will rise once the leading edge of the moisture pushes through…or so i hope.

  9. Verbatim says:

What do we have to do and how much longer do we have to wait for a ‘good’ snow like back in ‘03 to blanket the Mid-State?…I hope there are some good snow “chances” for this February. Who am I kidding though.

  10. Guys none of this snow is reaching the ground, not even tiny flurries.. disappointing!

  11. Humidity here in Cookeville has gone from 40% at 6 pm to 52% here at 10:50 pm

    Dewpoint 9.5 to 15

The snow is on it’s way!

  12. Carl says:

Real Time Construction Cameras from Memphis show snow on the ground and snow falling…The radar is also showing an area of heavy snow (which, at least could be light to moderate by the time it reaches the ground) about to move across the TN river.

  13. Will says:

Come on.. no school for robertson

  14. Matt says:

No snow reaching the ground all the west tn snow has no offical reports of reaching the dang ground. Schools considering to reopen here in Perry and Decatur counties.

  15. FINALLY ITS REACHING THE GROUND! Not coming down that hard yet BUT it is finally coming down. If it starts up heavy again ill post again.

  16. Tracy says:

Reading some of these comments I am wondering a couple of things: A) are some of you enjoying this at all? B) are some of you just unhappy people? C) Calm down! worrying will do nothing about snow totals.

    my 4 cents.

  17. john says:

Got light fluffy slow in Clarksville.

  18. Josh says:

  23. Keith says:

    Ryan: Absolutely nothing in Columbia.

  24. Kathy says:

    Still nothing in West Meade!

  25. MATT says:

THE NWS MEMPHIS SAYS THEY ARE LIFTING THE SNOW ADVISORY FOR WEST TN.
NOT ENOUGH PRECIPITATION HAS BEEN OBSERVED, AND THAT THIS STORM IS MOVING A LOT QUICKER THAN EXPECTED. THEY SAID PEOPLE WOULD BE LUCKY IF THEY SEE A INCH OUT OF THIS ROUND BUT THEY ARE KEEPING POSTED TO THE NEXT ROUND TOMORROW NIGHT. IT WILL BE MUCH SLOWER THAN THIS ONE AND SNOW CHANCES LOOK BETTER FOR WEST TN.
I BET SCHOOLS ARE REGRETING CLOSING NOW.

  26. Jeremy in E CC says:

looks like the radar echoes are almost here (Woodbury). Both of my thermometers are reading 26F. Being up on the Highland Rim makes the difference, huh? It’s 30F - 18 miles away in Manchester.
I guess the atmosphere was too dry this go around. Everyone seems to be dropping their predictions. I’ll bet that we get more tomorrow night into Friday than we will get this evening.

  27. Gabe says:

WTH is going on…..it is snowing in linden and centerville but not here in hohenwald when th eradar shows it is there? This stinks! I have not seen even one flurry.

  28. Jeremy in E CC says:

Verbatim, looks like you might get your first taste of the white stuff soon. It’s pretty sad that less than an inch is the most snow we have had this winter!

  29. Gabe says:

This will be another missed chance. A dusting to maybe a half of an inch is what i am seeing for everybody now. Its moving to fast and it’s not even snowing in many places where the radar shows.

Too bad. I thought we had a chance. But it’s gone

  30. Well yet again nothing is happening here.. this is the most insane thing i HAVE EVER SEEN IM MY FREAKIN LIFE!! (no cussin LOL) But im serious this is disgusting! Tennessee HAS to have some snow curse upon it.

  31. Gabe says:

If that heavy moisture in mississippi does not make it up here….about .5 is all anybody will get…..kinda sad.

  32. Gabe says:

well i am looking for saturday nights snow chance….is that one any good?

  33. Jennifer says:

Well its been awhile since my last post the flakes have quit falling in Joelton. Haven’t seen any in awhile. I guess I can just give up on any snow… I would like to hope not though… I guess we can all dream of it….

  34. shaq725 says:

the precip in miss. is moving east…..o well maybe next time

  35. Clay says:

At the rate we are going there won’t be a next time. It’s always something that screws up our snow chances. Dang it, I didn’t do my homework.

  36. Snow coming down now..its a really hard snow.. Lacks alot of moisture. Kinda sounds like sleet. where do we send weather pics?

  37. shaq725 says:

HAHA I knew someone would say that,Clay

  38. Verbatim says:

I honestly had a feeling all day that this would pan out or even exceed the predicted amounts by the nws and news crew, but it obviously doesn’t look like that’s going to be the case anymore.

    Jeremy,

I agree that we MIGHT see more precipitation tomorrow night then tonight…seeing as how I’ve seen much of absolutely NOTHING so far…oh wait there was that one lonely flurry =/ Anyway I doubt it will be much different from tonight. You’re right it is sad that less than an inch is all we’ve had this winter…heck, we haven’t even seen a 1/2″…

Until I see another ‘good’ chance for some snow here, I think I’ll stick to my prediction of another couple years before we see another big snow like in 2003.

  39. peewee herman says:

I said it last night folks and I will say it again as normal its a bust we will be lucky to see snow on the groud in nashville when we wake up this is such a joke.now even when we have a winter storm watch I won,t trust it till i see it.hea hea
