We’ve got clouds most of the day and in the wake of a cold front that pushed through overnight not much of a warm-up either. We’ve already reached our “official” high for the day; that was at midnight with the airport temperature at 45 degrees. By this afternoon we’ll have highs in the low 40’s.

As the cold air continues to pour in it’ll dry out the lower levels which will clear us up a little overnight. It’ll also turn the last of the low level moisture into some flurries on the plateau. Expect these winter temperatures to stick around; though it was exactly a week ago we started Monday morning in the upper 60’s we’ve had afternoon temperatures in the 40’s or lower since. We’ll have 40’s for highs all this week as well as we’ve hit the core of winter here in middle Tennessee.

Is there any chance of actually getting COLD weather in the next 2 - 3 weeks? As long as it’s in the 40’s, we can’t even consider snow or ice. Any signs of anything lower than 40 over the next couple of weeks or so?
The long range GFS model (the 8 to 16 day period) shows colder air for next week, just about all week long. The long range Canadian model shows the coldest air from the middle of next week into next weekend. I’m sure we’ll get some stretches of 30 degree weather during that time period, if not before.
It snowed in Phoenix but we can’t even get a flurry. Talk about strange….
The preacher at our Church talked about the weather changing. He said it’s because we’re living in the time just before Christ’s return.
Chris, I believe that.
That’s it. That just does it. I’m not EVER looking at the Accuweather.com 15 day forecast again! On day 15, Feb 5. It has a High of 60 and nightime low of 18. On top of that it has rain showers. The 15 day forecast on AW.C is just simply a goofy wives tale!
it didn’t snow in phoenix…but it did in tucson which is not unusual…considering its elevation. but it is pretty cold for phoenix nowadays.
My friend lives in Phoenix (I lived there for several years) and emailed pictures this morning. Sure looks like snow to me.
Accuweather is almost never accurate. They don’t hold true to their name.
You’re preacher is nuts. Nobody knows when Christ will return. Someone said that, wait, yep, it was Jesus.
Don’t look at the accuweather 15 day, its tied to the 0z gfs completely, and the 0z runs change drastically in the long range.
National Weather Service people. Its the way to go. read the forecast discussion.
9Fan,
Tel your friend to send some of that our way PLEASE…
He did’nt say when Christ will return,he meant it is the sign. And he is right.
Jusit was making a funny about what Chris said. your preacher is 100% correct the time draws near acording to the bibles time lines. For those that understand open the door iv been knocking for sometime now.
There will be wars and rumors of wars, earthquakes, storms, etc.
When in the last 2000 years have those things not been happening?
How about preachers stop trying to figure out when Jesus is coming back, and just be Jesus to people. That radical fundamentalist stuff is one of the major problems with Christianity today.
When Jesus said there will be wars and rumors of wars, etc he was talking about the destruction of the Temple not the second coming of Christ. When he talks of his second coming he says that no one knows not even Jesus himself. Only the Father in Heaven knows.
Glenn,
People that believe this stuff don’t do any meaningful exegesis. The preachers are typically swindlers who read the papers and find a passage in the bible that they can somehow make corrolate. Its embarrasing to Christianity.
Ok. That’s enough of the Armageddon talk for now. Now on to the snow that’s eventually going to hit us before this winter dies.
I’m almost of the mindset that Christ will return before we get a decent snowfall around Mid TN again.
LOL Jammer! I’m starting to feel the same.
Sharon, I think she would love to have the snow come this way. The first time in 10 years she had to buy a heavier coat. A sweatshirt isn’t cutting it in Phoenix this winter.
One thing is certain. If Israel is taken over by the terrorist, then that will be good sign of the end.
What makes you think that Clay?
I cant wait to see just a little snow. I moved here from florida for the season changes. I havent seen snow for 10 years. I use to live in pennsylvania. I didnt want to move back there cause I only want a little snow. I dont want to get snowed in or anything.
Clay,
The modern day state of Israel is not the same as the Israel mentioned by Paul or the Israel of the old testament.
I hear Tim Lahaye is monitering this thread for new book ideas. Its gonna be an environmental book about the apocolypse entitled “Don’t Get Left Behind (in the lack of snow in Nashville)”
Glenn, God Promised the land at Abraham, if I am thinking right, it’s in the book of Genesis.
Correcton, Abram was to whom it was promise
Yeah, he promised it to abram and his descendents, but the Jews have been exiled several times since then, and the second coming never happened.
Maybe we’re misunderstanding the promise?
BTW, “if you’re thinking right”
Abraham isn’t even alive in any other books of the bible.
So its definitely Genesis.
But we’re supposed to trust you that Jesus is coming soon, but you don’t know the bible well enough to know for sure Abram/Abraham was definitely in Genesis. Hmm.
Wo wo wo, Calm down, buddy. Just a typo. Ya know?
One thing that is interesting is the Farmer’s Almanac (off the internet) never mention anything about snow or ice in Tennessee in Dec or Jan. But mentions 2 possilities in Feb. First one around Feb 8 - 11 period and the other around the 21 - 22.
I BET it snows in May.
Don’t lose hope now, either - our biggest snow was in LATE MARCH.
The GFS is showing possible winter precipitation on the 5th of February, but as James Spann always says “it’s pure voodoo!”

one word….. AMEN!
Does anyone know the latest snow has ever been recorded here.
I remember it was April 1st or 2nd in 1987. It was light snow showers that whitened the ground. I was living in Watertown/Wilson County at the time. We always just referred to it as a “skift” of snow. Then it was gone almost as soon as it started. But…Hey…it counts…right?
justin mundie you sir are a moron. You mock christ and hell is waiting for you sir.
We got a dusting here in Sparta on the 15th of April just like 3 years ago.
Mr. Mundie……stick with what you know…and it’s sure not biblical things.
I could tell you how my fiancee’s brother is a bible major, how her dad has a doctorate in theology, or how I thought about getting an M Div myself, but I’ll just let you think I’m stupid with regards to the bible and Christianity.
Left Behind theology is BAD theology. Trying to predict the end of the world is foolish, Christ basically told people not to worry about it because there were other things that needed to be done, like feeding and clothing the poor.
“justin mundie you sir are a moron. You mock christ and hell is waiting for you sir.”
Ha. That’s just funny. Jesus was all about namecalling.
Seems like there’s a verse that says you who say to your brother Raca (you fool) are in dangers of the fires of hell.
Who’s going to hell now?
(BTW, for the record, I don’t believe in the catholic church’s/johnathan edwards/dante’s inferno version of hell. God is not sitting up there dangling people over the fire, and he sure as heck doesn’t want to see a bunch of people tortured, but all come to repentance.
And again I say your a moron, it called free will and you will is to think that god is going to let you moch him and let the world do what they want and then just say OK were sorry save us????? Man did you grow up in the nut house or what.
Again I say
Matthew 5:22 (New International Version)
22But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother[a]will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to his brother, ‘Raca,[b]‘ is answerable to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of hell.
That’s not what I think at all Jason. I don’t know where you got that from. God can and will save whomever he wants. There’s a parable about it. You know, the one where the master pays everyone the same wage, even though some worked longer than others?
Salvation is much more broad that justa post mortem thing. Jesus said that the Kingdom of God is at hand… not is coming after you die. Its breaking in right now. The church is supposed to be representative of what God intended the world to be from the beginning. And we’re supposed to be loving to people, even those who make bad decisions, or don’t look like us, or want to kill us. Look at the last couple verses of Romans 12.
I could go on and on, but that isn’t the purpose of this forum. There is no rapture. No one believed in any of that stuff until about 200 years ago.
