Wet Morning Ahead…

Rain will be the story this morning; the wet weather should depart Nashville by early afternoon but linger until late afternoon in the southeast corner of Middle Tennessee. The good news is that temperatures are above freezing this morning (only in the middle 30s north of I-40 but lower 40s toward the Alabama state line). No slick spots are expected, but we all know that wet roads are more than enough to cause some travel problems.

Predictor suggests that the heaviest rain will move through Nashville by late morning, but a few additional showers will linger until early afternoon:

Temperatures will only reach the lower to middle 40s in the mid-state today; cooler north of I-40 and milder down south.

Justin, do your long range models show this pattern of cold temperatures sticking around or is this just a cold air shot? We are getting a little desperate for snow and for things to one of these days “pan out”. Please respond if you can. Thanks, Clay.

Clay, the pattern looks convincingly cold for the next several weeks. Great news for us winter weather fans. Thursday looks like a decent opportunity for light snow showers as really cold air funnels in on gusty northwest winds.

Hmm… I though the low would track a little too far south.

Maybe a dusting around Nashville? Too early to commit to anything specific just yet…

my opinion is the farther south you are the more you get. Makes sense….temps will be cold but the farther south you are the more moisture you would get.

  9. Gabe says:

oh btw…..dont ever trust the weather channel….”unless Dr. Greg Forbes is on there talking about severe weather” their 7 day forecasts are so unreliable it’s almost pathetic
