New Tornado Watch For North & Northwest Middle Tennessee

New Watch.jpg

Strong storms continue to move east northeast through Kentucky, but some may graze our north and northwestern counties in Middle Tennessee. Hence, a Tornado Watch until 9am. I’ve been noticing some outflow boundaries moving southeast across the Tennessee border and this may also help trigger some storms in north Middle Tennessee.

Our temperature at 1am: 80 degrees! That doesn’t help.

    David,
Do you still think that Murfreesboro will be clear tonight? I’m starting to get really worried for some reason.

  2. Mike says:

I am just worried about something firing up out of nowhere again.

  3. Jilly says:

Yes, 80 here on the Cheatham/Dickson county line and “swampy.” Worrisome.

  4. David F. in Murfreesboro says:

    Mike,
Where did you say you live again?

I was doing pretty good tonight until that Tornado Watch was issued. Now I got so many thought running through my head it’s ridiculous. I hope Davis will please let us know in detail what he thinks about the areas not in the Tornado Watch, and how far South he thinks the rain will get tonight.

  5. Davis Nolan says:

We’ll be monitoring the situation. Justin is on his way in to take over, so we’ll be covered through the wee hours of the morning and beyond.

  6. David F. in Murfreesboro says:

    Davis,
I know I’m bothering you now, but I just really need to know what your gut feeling is on if the rain will move as far South as Murfreesboro tonight?

  7. Mike says:

I live in La Vergne David. I can almost see the Davidson County line from where I live. Not too reassuring right now…

  8. sherry says:

Im so worried, cant sleep..Im in northern Robertson co.I have a baby and live in a modular home out in the country.Tornado sirens from Springfield can’t be heard here.Have weather radio but dont feel any better..

  9. David F. in Murfreesboro says:

I see the outflow boundry Davis was talking about almost right in the middle between the top of Davidson County and the KY line.

  10. David F. in Murfreesboro says:

    Sherry,
I would take my baby and go to someone’s house right now. Don’t waste anytime. Trust me, with the way these storms have been acting tonight I’m sure whomever you call will gladly let you stay at their house.

  11. Doppler Dave says:

It’s almost 2am. I have to work at 8am. I am still up…I’m running on about 6 hours of sleep. I have a safe room but I want to be sure that I watch these storms come in just in case I need to use it!

  12. David F. in Murfreesboro says:

    Doppler Dave,
I wish I were as lucky as you to have a safe room. I want one so bad I can’t stand it. I even asked some of the manufactures of them if I could get one cheap ny letting mine be a demo type. I have the worst phobia of storms out of everyone i know. I hate that I’m like this. It literally makes me sick and crazy.

  13. Mike says:

    Understand completely man

  14. Clarence says:

Gentlemen, I dont think you have too much to worry about tonight, especially south of town. I am north of Nashville and had hoped to get some good lightning photos tonight, but honestly in the last half hour the lightning to the north has dissipated. :-(

  15. David F. in Murfreesboro says:

It’s just blowing my mind that these storms aren’t weakening at all. The NWS is still giveing out watches.

  16. Mike says:

It may be wishful thinking but at least there hasn’t been any warnings for close to an hour now.

  17. Doppler Dave says:

2:20am…I’m going to be less than productive at work tomorrow! The storms seem to still be going northeast rather than east-northeast. I hate it when there’s a tornado watch overnight!

  18. David F. in Murfreesboro says:

I was starting to wonder where everyone went. I wonder what happened to Davis? He said Jstin was coming in so I wonder what time he comes in? I need somebody to give me an update on the situation.

Did they cancell the Tornado watch? It’s not scrolling on the bottom of the screen anymore.

  19. Doppler Dave says:

No, the tornado watch is still going strong =0(

  20. David F. in Murfreesboro says:

That’s what I thought. It’s just weird that it’s not being shown on the the Weather Channel or Channel 2 and 4, Channel 5 still has it up, but their’s includes Davidson county in the watch.

  21. David F. in Murfreesboro says:

I can’t believe Dais and crew just forgot about us. We all have so many questions and nobody to answer them. Mike are you still hanging in there with me?

  22. David F. in Murfreesboro says:

The part of this system around the extreme NW part of TN seems to be making a more SE path. Does anyone else see this? That doesn’t make me feel any better.

  23. Mike says:

I am…just barely. I am so tired, and this supposed lull is trying to lull me to sleep. It does seem the storms are staying below severe limits for quite awhile. But I’ve also noticed they ever so slightly shifted south into extreme north TN..

  24. David F. in Murfreesboro says:

I guess I should feel better since Davis and Co. Aren’t up an about, but I wish they could just let us know what’s going on.

  25. Doppler Dave says:

Tornado warning issued for Russell county, KY. It’s going to be 3am!!! These storms are not fooling around!

  26. Mike says:

Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Stewart County yet again..until 3:30…you still out there David?

  27. David F. in Murfreesboro says:

Yeah I’m still here. I’m so sick of this night. We’re all on here just being left to guess what the hell is going on. Are the storms weakening? Why have they taken a SE movement? Will they weaken? There’s a lot of questions I have but nobody to answer them.

  28. Mike says:

I’m sick of this weekend already….I have been up over 21 hours now…I hate this. The worst part for me is coming in the next two hours because my wife is going to be going to work, and I have the kid this morning…and I hate her seeing me worked up over these storms

  29. David F. in Murfreesboro says:

I know how you feel. I hate my wife seeing how something like this can totally take control of my life. When there is a threat like this I can’t relax at all. I can’t sit still, I don’t want anyone talking to me, and what’s worse is when you do have to take care of the kids. I have 2 little girls. Alyssa 2 and Hailey 1. So it’s hard for me to watch the weather like I want to, and watch them like they need to be.

Are you worried about this line that is going to give us some rain in probably about the next hour or so? I just really wish one of the mets would get on and talk with us.

  30. David F. in Murfreesboro says:

Something just doesn’t feel right about how this one part of the storm is taking a different angle then the rest. These mets are killing me. I’m almost in a panic attack and there not here.

  31. Mike says:

It might be a little later than an hour before any rain gets here. I have no fear of the rain, just the other stuff..

  32. LynnH says:

Hi guys. I’m up in Clarksville and also have been up all night. Kept the computer next to the bed and once I heard weatherbug chirping knew it was time to start watching the radars. The winds picked up a couple minutes ago here. So much for sleep. Thunder just started here now….

  33. Mike says:

It seems the strongest part is from northeast of Clarksville back down to Paris with more southeast movement than earlier….yeah, I’m not liking the projected path, you’re right David, it just might sweep in through here about 5AM

  34. LynnH says:

Yeah, the storm is here. The tv signal is out so I’m depending on updated radars via computer as long as we have power. Lots of thunder, lightening and rain. Guess I should wait for the kids to join me downstairs anytime now… I’m not a big storm fan and am terrified of tornadoes but love to watch and learn about them.

  35. Ryan in Hickman County says:

Hey Justin and Davis are very busy, they cant answer everyone’s question. Seems like this happens everytime there is Severe Weather… But just be PATIENT and look at all your radars and read new warnings and statements from the National Weather Service…
