We reap the benefit of yesterday’s cold front passage. After some severe weather and heavy rain Tuesday we’ll finally enjoy cooler temperatures today. Winds from the north clear the skies some later today (we’ll keep rain in the forecast for the plateau) but the main story will be the low humidity and comfortable afternoon highs in the low 80’s. Ernesto will likely only give us a steady north, northwest wind and some cloud cover starting tomorrow and into Friday as it comes onshore around the North/South Carolina border tomorrow late morning. Looks like the cooler weather lasts across the holiday weekend. Very nice…

Yesterday afternoon I put in some mum’s around the mailbox and other side of the driveway. In the rain. They are building a house across the street and the foreman walked by giving me a puzzled look. I told him I’d rather work in rain than work in upper-90 degree weather. You are going to end up soaked either way! Maybe I’m part duck but I actually enjoyed being outside in the rain and cloudy skies yesterday afternoon; maybe I’m just really wishing for Fall to start.

So grateful for the cooler weather…Puts me in the mood for fall decorating, candy corn, and The Great Pumpkin!!!
Jeff, there is a little duck in all of us!!
Oooo… candy corn. I’ve seen it in the stores, Servocrow.
The rain as lovely yesterday, even though it screwed up all the roads, it was nice to see. I am glad that the temps have cooled off to what I think is the perfect summer temps.
Time to get outside and play while we can, folks!
Stephanie..I had to stop at Walgreens after church Sunday to pick up a prescriptio…soooooo the boys wanted to go look at the Halloween stuff..and LO AN BEHOLD *INSERT sound of Angel’s Singing here* there was my beloved Brach’s Candy Corn…
Naturally, I picked up a bag…and have been snitching a few here and there from it since!!!
Now, all I need is the leaves to change….
stark…raving…mad
Thank you Ernesto!! Cooler weather as football kicks off this weekend. Perfect!!
NEVER mess with a lady’s SWEET TREATS!
I like to pull garden weeds in the rain providing there is no thunder or lightning. They were alot easier to get out with the root because they are moist, the rain has that cooling effect AND your already wet when you go to jump in the shower which you were going to do after pulling dirty weeds anyway.
Enjoy the day all!
Man, Servocrow, and I thought I was very excited because dark chocolate M&Ms *and* mst3k’s volume 10 came out in the same week!! If we ever have a blog gathering I’ll have to remember to bring candy corn.
heheheheheheheh…..Yesterday was my husband’s birthday…The thought of buying Volume 10 for HIM crossed my mind….but remembering HIS enthusiasm for the SOL is not like mine…well, I decided not to.
But they DO say get a gift that you would love to get yourself, right???
