Today will be a heck of a lot like yesterday, as far as the weather is concerned. That means a mild and muggy morning and a hot and humid afternoon. Storm Tracker is dry early this morning. We can’t rule out a rogue shower during the first half of the day, but that chance increases a bit from midday through the afternoon. Scattered t’showers are possible through tonight and the first half of tomorrow as an upper air disturbance brushes by the region. We’ll cross our fingers for a round of rain between now and then because after that the forecast is just hot and humid through the next work week. Don’t blame the messenger!
Join us this morning as the News 2 Summer Tour continues. Big Joe and Jeff will report from 5:30 am to 7:00 am out at the Nashville Superspeedway. Jeff was lucky (and brave) enough to go for a real, live Indy car ride yesterday and he will have plenty to say about it!

I have been enjoying the News 2 Summer Tour Friday segments. My family went to both the Smithville and Murfreesboro music festivals. Nice reports!

Is it a real possiblility that this summer may be similar to 1995? That summer had a mild June, then once the heat turned on around early-mid July, it NEVER let up until around Labor Day. If that’s the case, there won’t be any breaks in the heat for about six weeks.
