Expect a partly cloudy sky and comfortable conditions as we wrap up the work week.

The forecast:

On Thursday Nashville’s high temperature was 83 degrees - much nicer than the previous 8 days of 90+ heat. Highs today will hit the middle 80s across the mid-state. A breeze from the north will keep humidity levels comfortable for late July.

The weekend:

Temperatures will warm up a bit each day over the next several days. Dry weather and mostly sunny skies are predicted through the weekend, with highs in the upper 80s to near 90 degrees.

The tropics:

Tropical Storm Franklin had 60 mph sustained winds early this morning and was still hanging out east of the U.S. coast. Franklin is not a threat to land and should head northeast over the next few days.
